Is jazz a gateway drug to other things? Yes! It is a gateway to having your mind opened in new expansive ways and to be able to listen and wait for the music to meander and develop as it happens. It will crack your mind and heart open while the music does what the music is going to do. Just as much as I hate putting anything big like sexuality into little buckets, I also have always disliked how much we love to label music. Why must we put things into little boxes? Maybe we love having nifty handles on music so we think we know what we are getting? Music seems so much bigger than that to me and the best most exciting music regardless of naming criss crosses all over the place in and out of genres. Each custom stretched canvas begins with a 12-colour Giclée print, produced from a choice of substrates. We then make a custom wooden frame from European knotless pine - in any size needed up to a maximum of 3 metres - and stretch the rolled canvas print over it.
We use finger jointed canvas frames to create corner tension which helps to resist warping. For larger sizes, we add wooden ‘wedges’ to each corner; ensuring the canvas surface remains taut and allowing for easy re-stretching in future years.
All canvas prints are wrapped in a protective sleeve with individual plastic or cardboard guards added to each corner. Additional cardboard is secured over the print surface to minimize the risk of breakages or transit damage. Each print is then shipped in a heavy duty cardboard box.
