Savor Every Bite Fine Art Print
Another amazing musician that I got to know and love in my college years and still love to this very day is Warren Zevon. The main place that we got to watch him frequently, hear him play and hear him share his thoughts on life and music was through Late Night with David Letterman. It was always a delight when he appeared on the show. Most people know Warren Zevon from his big hit was Werewolves of London, but honestly his entire catalog is stellar. Favorite albums are Excitable Boy released in 1978, Sentimental Hygiene and Mr. Bad Example. So many incredible songs that we still enjoy to this very day. One of my all time favorites that gets me every time is Let Nothing Come Between You. LOVELY!!! His song writing was brilliant, wry, biting and hilarious, but also very sweet at times and explained what we believed to be true!
One time he was talking to Dave Letterman, and it was a poignant interview because he had sadly been diagnosed with terminal pleural mesothelioma. His instruction on how to navigate such a twist in life was to “Enjoy every sandwich”. Yes, to be present, to enjoy and savor each bit, and or bite of life that you can while you are here. Beautiful. I know someone who has this as a tattoo and I support that enthusiastically!!! This has even more meaning ot me now as I received a cancer diagnosis late last year. My diagnosis is not terminal luckily, but it will still be a journey and I plan to follow this advice.
The art that I landed on to act as a tribute to this lovely person that we lost to the world in 2003, is a color palette from Excitable Boy and the concept of slices of bread in a multitude of colors and flavors waiting to receive your favorite sammy treats for that perfect sandwich and to remind us all to enjoy EVERY sandwich! Let’s do it the best we can! Enjoy this warm and cozy art to keep you on the right track. #warrenzevon #davidletterman #enjoyeverysandwich #letnothingcomebetweenyou #fineartprints #abstractart #werewolvesoflondon #excitableboy #bread #perfectsandwich
