Sometimes The Ponies Struggle Fine Art Print
Have to share a story about music and determination and encouragement. You may have had the pleasure to hear Chappell Roan @chappellroan. If you haven’t I highly recommend! It is a life and a game changer. Does it feel like this super star talent just dropped onto the scene and became and overnight sensation? Super talented right? Incredibly brilliant right? They should just skyrocket to fame immediately, right?
Nope! They started by learning how to play the piano at age 12. Passed on by America’s got talent, a youtube song in 2014 got her signed at Atlantic Records. 2016 first use of the name Chappell Roan. 2017 their first single was released and opened for another musician on their tour while still living at home. April 2020 they wrote Pink Pony Club , inspired by a go-go club in LA.
Then…did she rise to fame? Nope! Dropped from Atlantic for not being profitable?!?!? 2021 Chappell moved back home to work on music and work in a drive thru. WHAT? That was in 2021 people!
2023 a deal with Sony and a tour. September 2023 the amazing album the Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess and tours with opening sets from drag performers! YAY!!! That is the BEST! Since 2024 it has all been about this break thru star finally receiving the love and adoration they deserve!!!! FINALLY!!!!
Take aways? Stay true to yourself no matter what. You have to survive the bumps, the rejections, and many people who don’t get you. Gather learnings from rejection but don’t let them hurt you. Keep going, have faith in yourself and your abilities! No one else can be Chappell Roan and no one can be you! May this reminder bring you great joy and satisfaction!

Our unframed fine art prints are hand rolled in protective tissue paper and then shipped in extra thick cardboard tubes, unless they are 15x20cm and being delivered in the UK, or A4 or smaller and being delivered in mainland Europe (in which case they are shipped in thick cardboard envelopes).
