Winter Time Is Here Fine Art Print
It is that time of year when I have to face that it is winter. The holidays are here and the year is almost over. One of our favorite holiday films since our first child was tiny was a British film based on the adventures of a kid named James who has a magical adventure with a Snowman that they brought into existence. It is called The Snowman and it has been around since 1982. I discovered that upon its release David Bowie did a little intro for it!!! Thanks to @bowievideos for sharing this with us, never saw that before!
It’s a sweet and delightful romp through this gorgeous animation and also brings up feelings of loss and sadness when things come to an end, whether it be the holidays or the end of a more poignant moment. The soundtrack is a perfect pairing to this film. Saw some hilarious riffs on Instagram this year using this music for inspiration, thanks @thesugarcoatedsisters. Any hooooo, somehow, we never get tired of watching it each holiday season.
Wanted to create artwork that captures the space feel and colors of a winter landscape. You can imagine the Snowman frolicking around and having escapades here, can’t you? I sure can! I hope that you are able to make space for your treasured traditions this season and watch and listen to things you love and have time to spend it with those who make it a joyful celebration!
