Racing For The Prize Fine Art Print
You will not be shocked to hear that I love the FLAMING LIPS. On May 23, 2003 I was so so lucky that @anlizbeeb had an extra ticket for a concert at the @crystalballroom. I did not know the Flaming Lips @flaminglips at that time but I knew who was opening and that was the incredible @lizphairofficial. That day was uncharacteristically warm for May and it was so HOT in the ballroom, but the music took us to a new place! Liz was perfectly delightful and the Flaming Lips blew my mind! The whole thing was a treat for the senses and your whole body! We didn’t even get to have all the balloons at the end because of the crystal chandelier in the ballroom, but that DIDN’T matter. We left there changed.
From then on, we went to every show we could get to on the west coast and I got my whole family on board with the excitement and enthusiasm that this band embodies. OMG that night lead to so many more fantastic concerts!!! I was thinking about one of their songs that I love so much called Race for the Prize, which Wayne Coyne wrote after losing his father to cancer. That song means more to me now and I am grateful for scientists and doctors who are all on a journey to finding cures to all the things that threaten our existence on this planet. (So determined!) This art is meant to honor this band and the energy that their songs give to us. They remind us that we are all floating in space together and that our time together is precious. #flaminglips #crystalballroom #lizphair #waynecoyne #racefortheprize #kickcancersass #floatinginspace #doyourealize #loveflaminglips
