John Coltrane was born on this day September 23, 1926 in Hamlet North Carolina. Rest in peace. He would have been 98 today. An incredible saxophonist, bandleader and composer. This is where words fail me and there are not words to properly describe and explain who John Coltrane was and the musical legacy that he gifted to our world and that continues to make our planet a better place to live in.

An album that is beloved by myself and the world at large is A Love Supreme, recorded in December 1964 with a stellar quartet of McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Garrison and Elvin Jones. It was released on December 9, 1964 and the world has never been the same. I will never ever tire of the gorgeous, transformative, graceful and restorative nature of this album and how the four parts of Acknowledgement, Resolution, Pursuance and Psalm take your mind and heart through a magnificent journey every time.

Let's stop and be grateful for everything in John's life that brought him to the place where he created that masterpiece and think about how our life brings us all to places where we can also evolve and create and share those gifts with others. Let's let LOVE lead us to do more of that. I'm lucky to live in Portland Oregon which is full of fantastic musicians who create beautiful songs and play them live for us to enjoy and treasure. Cheers and love kind people. #johncoltrane #alovesupreme #blackamericanmusic #mccoytyner #jimmygarrison #elvinjones #loveisthefoundation #create #PDXmusic #loveleadtheway #PDXmusicians

Each of our maple wood custom panels is printed directly onto 1/2" thick maple surfaced wood, giving a warm and natural looking print that’s also eco-friendly. The stunning wood grain shows through the light or non printed areas of the image, producing a natural warm tone and retro vintage feel.

All panels are wrapped in a protective sleeve with individual plastic or cardboard guards added to each corner. Additional cardboard is secured over the print surface to minimise the risk of breakages or transit damage. Each panel is then shipped in a heavy duty cardboard box.
