Return Of The Dang Rat Eco Friendly Maple Wood Prints
In light of recent events, decided to take you all on a musical journey. Once around 1982 the incredible @brad.newman introduced me to a Portland band The Wipers @thewipersofficial. This band was formed in Portland Oregon in 1977 by the amazing guitarist and vocalist Greg Sage, with likewise amazing drummer Sam Henry and bassist Dave Koupal.
What I heard was intense and crackling with electricity and intensity and it made me sit up and say WHAT IS THIS???? This introduction cracked open my so far boring music life and changed me forever and I am happy to report that this music is STILL alive and vibrant and crackling and is even more relevant now. If you don’t know them, this is a going to be a treat to yourself! Check them out!
A song of theirs that I cannot get out of my head since last week is Return of the Rat.
“Well you better watch out Well you better beware Cause their comin' from all sizes of the country, now you better beware”. Yep.
I was listening to them and remembering this band and decided to create some art that captures the music that kicks ass with sheer electric energy and with an intensity that won’t let up. I used their logo for colour inspiration and I love the results.
I hope this art and song give you creative encouragement to bring that same crackle of electricity in your life today and always. Let’s get after it! #fineartprints #abstractart #interiordesign #thewipers #gregsage #returnoftherat #samhenry #davekoupal #betterbeware #neonpinkblack #isthisreal
Each of our maple wood custom panels is printed directly onto 1/2" thick maple surfaced wood, giving a warm and natural looking print that’s also eco-friendly. The stunning wood grain shows through the light or non printed areas of the image, producing a natural warm tone and retro vintage feel.
All panels are wrapped in a protective sleeve with individual plastic or cardboard guards added to each corner. Additional cardboard is secured over the print surface to minimise the risk of breakages or transit damage. Each panel is then shipped in a heavy duty cardboard box.
